As the parent of two children who are eight years apart, we chose to send
our oldest child (eight years ago) to a private, parochial school in the area.
Now, eight years later our second child will be a freshman in high school next
fall. After researching several area schools both public and private, we are
wholeheartedly and enthusiastically supporting her choice of Norton High School.
A robust curriculum including many honors level and AP classes, the enthusiasm
and dedication of the teachers, coaches and staff, the strategic planning
evident in Mr. Dewar and Dr. Ansay's plans for the high school were all part of
our decision. I am very impressed with how much has been accomplished over the
past decade at Norton High. I would encourage others to take a close look and
carefully compare what is offered before making a choice as to where your child
will attend high school.

I am a huge supporter of Norton High School and all it has to offer in all
areas of providing a well balanced high school experience. It is clearly the
high school of choice in our family. From my inside perspective as a school
committee member, along with a parent of a current 9th grade and 11th grade student, I could
not be more pleased with the Norton High School of today.
~ Kevin O'Neil, Norton School Committee
Our family whole-heartedly agrees! As you know, we currently have a high
school Senior, Junior and Freshman. The last couple of years have seen many
improvements and I can say that my kids truly love it there. When we’ve had
difficulties, and there have been a few, I’ve found the current administration
and teachers to be more than willing to communicate and help solve issues
whenever and however they can. They’re definitely all about the kids.
The Guidance Department has been instrumental in advising, guiding and
motivating the college choice and application process for my daughter. The
athletic department, with the support of Mr. Dewar, his staff and teachers are
now able to provide the well rounded high school experience to our athletes.
Even the students who choose not to be active participants on a team are
enjoying the team spirit that abounds at Norton High School.

We are 100% on board with Norton High, and are spreading that sentiment openly.
I befriended a retired foreign language teacher from Foxboro High last spring at
the gym. We lamented the high school choice issue while working on the
elliptical. He had some interesting observations. He felt parents were selecting
the catholic high schools for the peer group selection more than academics. He
also said he believed public high schools had better teachers and, generally,
course selection. He didn't feel public high school was a disadvantage regarding
college acceptance either, given other factors were equal. He was very pro
public school, needless to say. His own kids attended public high school, and
went on to very prestigious colleges. I really feel with school committee
members like you and Dr. Ansay, we are on the right track. I am also very
impressed with Ray Dewar. We have a lot to celebrate!
