History/Background

The Norton Athletic Complex Committee (NACC) oversees the planning, fundraising, and construction of the athletic field project surrounding the High School property.  The revenues and expenses are managed outside of the regular school budget.  The project is funded through donations and each expense is approved by the NACC.  The committee is made up of volunteers throughout the community that are motivated to create high school athletic fields that all in the community can be proud of.  This is an open enrollment committee, where anyone interested can attend.

The Norton Athletic Complex Committee is very proud to announce that the Norton High School Varsity baseball field has been completed and is being used by several in-town baseball teams.  Irrigation has been installed, the donated scoreboard by North Easton savings bank erected, sod laid, and the fencing completed.  The old chain link fencing adjacent to the parking lot has been removed, and has been replaced with timber fencing.

Over the past three years, the NACC also installed a state of the art softball field at the rear of Norton High School, and added lights to the Norton High football/soccer/track area. Through corporate sponsors and donations, fundraisers and community support the group has been able to complete these phases of this enormous project. The group will need to raise additional funds to proceed with the next stages of this project.  We are in need of outside basketball and tennis courts, football bleachers, and football/soccer field irrigation.

Special thanks to the Norton Police Union for their generous donation of a new flag pole and huge U.S. flag!   It is visible and enjoyed from almost everywhere on the High School property!

Current Project

We are currently working on completing an athletic park entrance which will eventually include a "Home of the Norton Lancers" sign, brick walk and park area, benches, lighting, granite walls, trees, and other landscape items.  This will be a showplace to welcome visitors to the High School athletic complex and will serve to provide continuous fundraising.  It will be an attractive area that high school students and the public can both enjoy.  This park is located in the area to the left/front of the high school building.  All profits from the sale of bricks and other landscape items will be re-invested in the high school fields and courts.  The actual location is noted In red in the master plan below.  Download a Brick Park Brochure and Brick Order Form

Personalized bricks are available for $50 by downloading the form, complete and return with your check to the Superintendent's office.  These bricks will be used in the brick park area.

Your brick purchase will included a personalized inscription to recognize someone or as a memorial, or simply to permanently leave your mark on our High School property for all to enjoy.  We welcome landscaping donations, such as trees, in exchange for recognition of your company in our park.

The group is also looking for individuals to purchase remembrance or tribute items such as trees, benches, flag poles and other items to be installed in the Field of Dreams Project. The support of local businesses is also being sought so that this very ambitious project can be completed. Please contact 508 285 0100 for information on donations.
